These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DictoEaso applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1) Acceptance

1.1 These Terms are a binding agreement between you and DictoEaso Inc.
1.2 Additional notices, in-product disclosures, and third-party platform terms may apply to specific features.
1.3 If you do not agree to these Terms, you must stop using the Service.

2) Eligibility and Age

2.1 The Service is intended for users age 13 and older, based on self-certification during onboarding.
2.2 DictoEaso does not perform formal age verification (for example, government ID or date-of-birth verification).
2.3 If you are under 13, use is permitted only where a parent or legal guardian creates/manages the account and supervises your use, and only where allowed by applicable law.

3) Accounts and Security

3.1 You are responsible for account credentials and activity under your account.
3.2 You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
3.3 We may apply verification, anti-abuse, and integrity controls to protect users and the Service.
3.4 You must promptly notify us at contact@dictoeaso.com if you suspect unauthorized account access.

4) Trials, Access Levels, Subscriptions, and Billing

4.1 DictoEaso uses entitlement-based access levels (for example, trial access, paid access, or locked access).
4.2 Paid subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple App Store or Google Play (the "Platform Billing Providers").
4.3 DictoEaso uses RevenueCat as subscription infrastructure for subscription status and entitlement synchronization. RevenueCat is not the merchant of record for Apple/Google in-app purchases.
4.4 Runtime subscription truth in the app is primarily synchronized through secure backend entitlement records, not only a local client-side check.

4.5 Auto-Renewal and Trial to Paid

  • Subscription plans may auto-renew unless canceled in your Apple or Google account settings.
  • If a free trial or introductory offer is available, it may convert to paid at the end of the trial unless canceled before renewal.
  • Trial eligibility and conversion timing are controlled by store configuration and your account status.

4.6 Pricing, Taxes, Promotions, and Changes

  • Prices, billing periods, taxes, and promotion eligibility are determined by Apple/Google checkout systems and applicable law.
  • App-side subscription plan text and displayed price content may not always match the final checkout price.
  • The final binding price and terms are those shown on Apple/Google checkout pages at purchase time.

4.7 Product Catalog and Plan Mapping

  • Product identifiers, offers, and package mapping are managed through RevenueCat offerings configuration tied to Apple/Google products.
  • DictoEaso does not guarantee any specific plan or offer is available at all times in all regions or store accounts.

4.8 Restore Purchases and Manage Subscription

  • Restore purchases is available in-app for eligible store accounts.
  • Manage subscription is available via store management routes, including:
    • Apple: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
    • Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions

4.9 Refunds and Billing Disputes

  • Refunds, charge reversals, and billing disputes for in-app subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
  • DictoEaso cannot directly issue platform purchase refunds for Apple/Google transactions.

5) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive purposes;
  • bypass trial, entitlement, payment, quota, or security controls;
  • interfere with Service operation (including scraping, reverse engineering, automation abuse, or credential abuse);
  • impersonate others or use identifiers you are not authorized to use;
  • upload or process content that violates law, rights, or third-party privacy.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for violations.

6) Account Deletion

6.1 You may request account deletion inside the app.
6.2 Deletion removes account-linked data from active systems, subject to lawful retention needs (for example, security, fraud prevention, accounting, compliance, and dispute handling).
6.3 Deleting your DictoEaso account does not automatically cancel your Apple/Google subscription. You must cancel in your store account settings.

7) User Content and Feedback

7.1 "User Content" includes content you submit or generate in the Service, including custom deck entries, transcripts, OCR inputs/outputs, and related learning artifacts.
7.2 You represent that you own User Content or have all rights needed to submit and process it in the Service.
7.3 You grant DictoEaso a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, store, transform, and transmit User Content solely to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
7.4 If you submit feedback or suggestions, you grant DictoEaso a non-exclusive right to use them without obligation to compensate you.

7.5 Intellectual Property and Trademark Notice

  • The Service, including software, design, brand assets, and non-user content, is owned by DictoEaso Inc. or its licensors.
  • "DictoEaso" is a trademark of DictoEaso Inc., registered in Canada and the United States.
  • You may not use DictoEaso trademarks, logos, or confusingly similar marks without prior written permission.

8) Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including:

  • RevenueCat (subscription infrastructure and entitlement synchronization support);
  • Firebase / Google Cloud services (authentication, data, storage, and cloud functions);
  • Apple App Store and Google Play billing systems (purchase processing, renewals, cancellation management, refunds/disputes).

Your use of third-party services is also subject to those providers' terms and policies.

9) Disclaimers

9.1 The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9.2 Automated evaluation, recognition, or scoring results (including OCR/dictation grading signals) are informational and may not be accurate, complete, or suitable for high-stakes decisions.
9.3 Subscription text and price displays inside the app may differ from final Apple/Google checkout terms. Checkout pages control final billing terms.
9.4 We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.

10) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DictoEaso is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, liability is limited to the minimum amount required by applicable law.

11) Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DictoEaso Inc., its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • your misuse of the Service;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your violation of law or third-party rights;
  • your User Content.

12) Governing Law and Dispute Process

12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction remain applicable where required.
12.2 Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to first contact DictoEaso at contact@dictoeaso.com and attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith.

13) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or other appropriate channels. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
